Ruaa Kayy
Ruaa Kayy (born as Ruaa Kayy, রুয়া কায়ি) is an Indian playback singer of Indian descent who was born in Saudi Arabia. Though her exact date of birth remains undisclosed, she grew up in a multicultural household that blended South Asian musical traditions with the vibrant expatriate culture of the Gulf. From an early age she displayed a keen interest in music, training in classical Hindustani vocal techniques while also absorbing contemporary pop influences. She made her professional debut in the Indian film industry in 2018 with the soulful track "Dil Ki Dhadkan" which quickly became a chart‑topping hit across streaming platforms. Known for her clear, emotive soprano voice, Ruaa has since lent her vocals to a variety of genres ranging from romantic ballads to Sufi‑infused numbers. Signature hits such as "Saathiya", "Mere Sapne" and the devotional anthem "Ruh-e‑Mann" have cemented her reputation as a versatile playback artist capable of delivering both high‑energy pop anthems and tender, lyrical performances. Ruaa Kayy’s contributions have earned her several accolades, including the Best Female Playback Singer award at the 2021 Mirchi Music Awards and a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Playback Singer in 2022. She continues to collaborate with prominent composers and has expanded her repertoire to include independent singles, live concerts across India and the Middle East, and philanthropic performances supporting education for underprivileged children in her native community.
