Nusrat Jahan
Nusrat Jahan (Bengali: নুসরাত জাহান) is a Bangladeshi vocalist who rose to prominence after her soulful performance on Coke Studio Bangla’s debut season in 2022. Born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, she began singing at a young age, training in classical and contemporary styles before entering the modern music scene. Her breakout track “Room Jhoom,” a collaboration with composer Rashid Mahmud and lyricist Mithila Chakraborty, showcased her emotive mezzo‑soprano voice and earned widespread acclaim for blending traditional Bangla folk motifs with modern pop production. She is noted for her versatile range, capable of delivering both delicate ballads and upbeat anthems, and has been praised for preserving cultural heritage while experimenting with electronic and indie elements. In 2023, she received the “Best Emerging Vocalist” award at the Bangladesh Music Awards, cementing her status as one of the country’s rising musical talents. Beyond recording, Nusrat actively participates in charitable concerts and youth music workshops, aiming to inspire the next generation of Bangladeshi artists. Her growing discography and collaborative spirit continue to expand her influence across South Asian music platforms.
