Karma (1986) is an iconic Bollywood action drama directed by Subhash Ghai under the Mukta Arts banner. Featuring an incredible ensemble cast including Dilip Kumar, Nutan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Naseeruddin Shah, Sridevi, Poonam Dhillon, and Anupam Kher as the legendary antagonist Dr. Dang, the film became an enormous blockbuster and an enduring landmark of 1980s Indian cinema. The music composed by the legendary duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal, with lyrics by Anand Bakshi, was instrumental in the film's massive success. The standout highlight of the album is the legendary patriotic anthem 'Dil Diya Hai Jaan Bhi Denge' (Aye Watan Tere Liye), rendered passionately by Mohammad Aziz and Kavita Krishnamurthy, which remains a staple song played across India during Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations. In addition to its heroic anthem, the soundtrack offers a versatile mix of romantic and dramatic compositions, including 'Aye Mohabbat Teri Dastan', 'De Darwaaza Sehar Hua', and the emotive 'Na Jaiyo Pardes' by Kishore Kumar and Kavita Krishnamurthy.
